The Seventh Day: Message to Myself!

Visiting Northfield Minnesota today with a tricky computer connection and no open library in site. How glorious though to have uncovered this Danna Faulds poem, tucked amongst the diverse sundries of my book bag. The words inform where I am today, and invite me into a deeper engagement with my spirited Self. The mood that I am in coaxes me into that swirling witness ether that compels new exploration and discovery.

Plus, for the record, I’m typing the whole damn thing with one finger, hunched over my iPhone.

There will be more elaborate and extensive elucidations tomorrow!

Here’s the poem:

To this moment, as it is,

give in.

Allow reality to have its way,

to touch, and change,

and burn away

whatever still remains

of your illusions.

Now is knocking like the guest

who traveled a long distance

just to visit.

Would you keep her waiting

at the door?

Let life in, the beauty

and the contradictions,

the curriculum

perfectly designed

to pull the rug out from under

your favorite easy chair

before reducing it

to splinters.

Welcome in the tempest

and the calm,

opening the door for truth

no matter how

she finds you.

Off to boat with my brother, mother, sister-in-law and nephews on Lake Minnetonka. So grateful for these small, tender moments that truly awaken.

Big Loving Namaste and Happy Saturday!

About livebig365

Join me as I dive in to the deep end of the pool and challenge myself to live big and love big. What does that mean? In 2012 , I accepted the invitation to push myself beyond my comfort zone, at least once a day, and engaged and responded to my life, or a given situation in my life, in a way that would normally scare the hell out of me. Why did I do it it? Because it was time time to begin, and I was ready! Each day brought a new revelation, lesson, challenge, encounter, a teaching moment, that revealed to me that living big and loving big are uniquely interconnected. Welcome 2013, the year of lovebig 365. Each post was an expression of love experienced, witnessed, inspired, manifested. It didn't always make sense in the moment, and yet its sheer mystery hopefully evoked a beautiful affirmation of life and all of its shimmery brightness; broken up, lovely to behold, tender and full of purpose. 2014, jagged, bumpy, disjointed posts. 2015, silence, and plenty of growth within that silence. Manifesting 2016: The creation of a gathering place for gratitude. Join in the wavering, audacious, unequivocal fun. 2017: Reflection 2018: POWER, MAGIC, TRANSFORMATION
