The water element in yoga (Apas) refers to the juices and juiciness of life. It is associated with the sacral chakra (Swadisthana) and was kind of the focus of my day. Swadisthana is most often associated with desire, especially sexual. When  I work with customers on disconnection in the second chakra there is often a need to work on releasing samskaras related to self and sexuality.

Sounds pretty deep, and it can be; but using a focus on healing liquid energy while on the mat, and expressing the healing as a lived intention off the mat often makes all the difference, at least to me. And also, I add a lot of twists, heart openers and empowering ab work in my practice on the mat.

So while I was teaching a group class in Fairfield today, it was humbling and inspiring to watch some fairly intrepid yogis do L Pose Ab work against the wall and hang in there for Wall Plank. Lots of juicy sweating and healing liquid energy brought to the sacrum by engaging the transverse abdominus muscles and keeping a relaxed heart.

Imagine a newly transformed connection to your sexual self, I say toward the end of class. Release all that no longer serves you and allow to manifest, out of that release, the space to bring in the lovely juiciness of a full and open connection to your own emotional desires. And see that life, with all its accompanying messiness as the absolute fullest expression of unique and wonderful you.

Big Loving Namaste!

About livebig365

Join me as I dive in to the deep end of the pool and challenge myself to live big and love big. What does that mean? In 2012 , I accepted the invitation to push myself beyond my comfort zone, at least once a day, and engaged and responded to my life, or a given situation in my life, in a way that would normally scare the hell out of me. Why did I do it it? Because it was time time to begin, and I was ready! Each day brought a new revelation, lesson, challenge, encounter, a teaching moment, that revealed to me that living big and loving big are uniquely interconnected. Welcome 2013, the year of lovebig 365. Each post was an expression of love experienced, witnessed, inspired, manifested. It didn't always make sense in the moment, and yet its sheer mystery hopefully evoked a beautiful affirmation of life and all of its shimmery brightness; broken up, lovely to behold, tender and full of purpose. 2014, jagged, bumpy, disjointed posts. 2015, silence, and plenty of growth within that silence. Manifesting 2016: The creation of a gathering place for gratitude. Join in the wavering, audacious, unequivocal fun. 2017: Reflection 2018: POWER, MAGIC, TRANSFORMATION
