You can adjust your diet, meditate and philosophize all you want, but life delivers both ups and downs, often in quick, tumbling succession. The expectation that you will actually handle it all with perfect equanimity is an ideal that no one lives up too for long. Under that stress, eiither our masks fail, or our bodies do. Health at all levels may not be some steady state of “perfection.” Maybe it’s the flexibility to recover balance as you ride the crests and troughs of the waves, or to stand back up after another wipe out!
I rode some big waves today myself and I’m still standing! Really exhausted though.
